BRIEF
To provide art direction for the 5 part docu-series showcasing the value and uses of gold in various forms. Filming takes place in the volume using a CGI-generated environment but must be anchored to reality in order to connect with the audience through the use of selected furniture and props. Specialist pieces will need to be created to align with parts of the narrative and there must be a premium and luxury aesthetic to the film.

THE APPROACH
Special care was taken to select props of high quality and a premium finish to convey the value of gold. Bespoke pieces were made with special attention paid to the materials and finishing. Great attention was paid to the placement of props as it was important to communicate the inherent value of gold, that it is a treasured and rare commodity used in only the most considered of spaces therefore it was important not to overcrowd the frame with ’gold’ objects but instead to convey the feeling or rarity. The film was given a warm and rich tone and therefore objects were selected to complement this aesthetic.
